A world-leading tech sector helps Sweden reach its full potential

For just over a year, the world and life have been shaped by the coronavirus pandemic with all that it means and has meant for people, businesses and society. As society shut down and restricted what we had previously taken for granted, new ways of coping were needed. And necessity is the mother of invention. Great digital leaps have been made. We in the tech industry have played a crucial role in this. We have been there with solutions. We have been a stable and reliable partner for many. Our networks have lasted and our products and services have been appreciated. Feel proud of the industry's joint action, we at IT&Telekomföretagen do.

We at IT&Telekomföretagen have done our utmost during the year to support our member companies during this tough period. The association has conducted very active advocacy work, offered guidance and continued to highlight the industry's contribution to the crisis and to sustainable development. Among other things, we initiated the "#vitecherupp" campaign, which highlights good examples of how digitization and digital services can help in the corona crisis. We have influenced and reached out on several priority issues such as broadband expansion, the skills shortage, the public market, AI, welfare technology and sustainability through advocacy, reports, opinion-forming and webinars. In addition, as part of making it easier for member companies, the membership fee for industry membership was halved in 2020. In 2020, the association's new strategy and vision were also established.

Furthermore, we have had full focus on offering comprehensive advice on how the effects of the pandemic should be handled in connection with remote work, work environment, short-time work and work shortage management. In parallel with this, a regular collective bargaining round has been conducted and new collective agreements have been signed that extend to 31 March 2023. As a member organization of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, the union has also participated in negotiations on future rules on employment protection and redeployment (LAS).

We are putting a very special year behind us. We are pleased to note that the industry as a whole has managed and coped well with the crisis. We can also note that the association is growing with more member companies, which means that together we can drive the industry's common issues even stronger.

I would like to thank our stable, sharp and driven Board for being available for extraordinary Board meetings, acting wisely and supporting the office in the best possible way. I would also like to highlight the fantastic team we have at the office. In 2020, great efforts were made by everyone, and several important recruitments have strengthened the Office's overall capacity.

And last but not least, a big thank you to all our member companies for their cooperation during the year! Making a difference for you is what drives us. The positive feedback we receive from our member companies and your commitment to our common issues is what gives us extra energy and motivation.

We look forward to continuing to develop our activities and our support to you. We will act strongly to create the best possible conditions for a world-leading tech sector in Sweden. We want to be your best partner, offer the best employer service and be the strong and influential voice of the tech sector.

Together for a world-leading tech sector in Sweden!
